I bought a set of Murray's Carbs and installed them about a month back. They started up well enough (better and easier than it's ever started before), but when the bike warmed up and I took off the choke it immediately bogged down and eventually stalled. It feels like its idling too low, but I've read this thread long enough to know not to mess with anything before talking to Murray. I sent an email to the address on his website maybe 3 weeks ago but got no response.

I think it might have something to do with my exhaust? I took off the H-box and the exhaust is shorter and more open than stock. I dont know, though.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Will you run that with four Mikunis, or just a pair?

Well I've just read this whole thread from start to here and I'm impressed. Got a bike to sell then going to order up a set of these carbs and a nice exhaust. I'm based in the UK, does anyone know what the total extra for import fees and vat add up to on a carb kit just now?

I’ve finally gotten my gl500 to the point of installing the Murray’s carb kit I bought maybe a year ago. I can’t find the answer in the forum , but one of the new manifolds is shorter than the other, which side goes where?

One cylinder is slightly farther forward than the other (I don’t remember which is which) due to crankshaft journal design. A quick “dry fit up” should make the choice evident.
