Nissin knockoff master cylinder

Anyone tried one of these cheap master cylinders? (7/8" bars, 14mm, with mirror mounts.) I've found threads about the other OE style ones from ebay with the sometimes leaky sightglasses. This one costs about the same, anyone tried it? Looks basically like a Chinese Nissin knockoff. My stock one needs the reservoir replaced and a rebuild so I might as well just get a new one. I like a good deal, but I don't want to die if it fails. Thoughts?

At that price I would expect junk.
You never know until some one tries one.
Do you want to be the guinea pig???

I paid well less than that each a couple of years ago for the eBay/China master cylinders Murray was recommending at the time (that seller no longer has them so I don't know which one to recommend now). The one on Eccles seems to be working well and the one on Mr.H was when I stored it in the fall.

There are 2 things to remember about stuff like this:
1) If you buy a kit from the dealer (or any well known online seller) it will probably have been made in China
2) The Chinese produce a very wide range of quality depending on what the customer is willing to pay. If you don't want to pay much they will make you junk but if you want to pay them for it they can & will produce some stuff that is much better than you could ever hope to get for anywhere near the same price made in North America or Europe.

The problem with buying online is that it is very difficult to know whether you are ordering junk from a gouger or quality from someone with good prices until it arrives.

These I think bob. Got one on each of my bikes I'm riding. One has been in use for a few years after the first ones sight glass disintegrated... after several years. The one with the sight glass issue was bought from a US seller for about $100 more than the others but was the same item. Paying more doesn't always get you better. Sometimes you're just lining someones pockets for them.

Yeah, that's exactly why I'm asking. I have several no-name clone motors that have been great, not implying that knockoff's can't be good. I have 1500 trouble-free miles on a motorized bicycle made with a Honda GXH clone. My weed wacker, snowblower, and lawn mower are all chinese motors. Very often it's just fit and finish that is sacrificed. The main thing that makes me leery of this one is that I don't see many of them for sale so I'm wondering if they are new without a lot of track record yet. I've found a bunch like the ones CXPhreak linked and I might just lean that way since it actually has a mirror mount.

FWIW, I bought a couple of them that looked like the ones people on this forum recommended a few years ago but cost a couple of $ less. I installed 1 on Eccles and it was never completely satisfactory http://cx500forum.com/forum/technical-help-forum/28500-master-cylinder-oddity.html I never got around to installing the other one on the 'Wing because I damaged the boot when I disassembled it to examine it.

The one I replaced it with is still working as well as the day I installed it. I just checked it and the boot looks good.

The only difference I could see in the pictures was that the good one has an adjustable lever and the one with the crappy rubber didn't.

This is where I bought the good one (recommended by Murray at the time)

That looks very much like the original type used on the GL500 & CX/GL650, right down to one of the silliest design details - the sight glass is on the front where you can't see it when you are sitting on the bike. I can't imagine why they did it that way but the CB400 type have it on the side that faces you.

If you check your fluid level before you ride does it matter which way the sight glass faces?
