One side was removed easily, and it was only a half turn from seated position.
any sugestions,I've soaked it, applied light heat, obviously attempted to cut a slot in remaining screw. It will not budge.

Drill it out and re-tap-if you cannot do this yourself get a small engineering shop to do it with maybe a high quality easy out.-By the way that pic of the pilot screw is missing the o-ring and small washer, they maybe are still in the carb body.

thanks White Knight, I was afraid that an easyout might expand the screw and bind worse. I'll go for it........no guts- no glory right? and yes the o-ring and washer are in carb still. is it common for the pilot screw to be only a half turn out?

A really stubborn 1 use water an flame.

Its amazing ,the power of boiling water cycle

heat/ cool as many times as it takes.

be patient don't try to force.

concentrate on the brass with the flame cone.

Keeping the body partially immersed.

Vinegar or lemon juice in water I have used to clean

by boiling/simmering .

If you can drill a straight hole into the broken stub - try using a Torx driver bit instead of an eazy-out. The torx bit has multiple serrations and a better grip , and doesnt expand the top of the bolt like a tapered easy-out does. A 2.5mm hole works perfectly with a #10 Torx bit.

Good job.

Don't look now but your skill is showing.
