Honda CX650 Café Racer – this stunning “Red Rocket” custom bike was made by a master Honda mechanic Bobby Thompson, who lives in Winter Haven FL - not a bad place to come this winter to check it out! Some of the key components:

• 1982 CX500TC Turbo frame - VIN # JH2 PCO307 CM0027057, with the rear aluminum swing arm, rear set pegs & rear wheel.

• 1983 Honda CX650 engine - # RC1OE-4002511,with new timing chain and water seal.

• 2005 Honda 650RR - front end with huge brakes, 44 mm fork tubes, and clip-on handlebars.

• 1978 Honda CX500 – fuel tank with custom flip-up flash fuel cap with vent.

• Lights – custom-made dual Triple-Star front headlights, with bright LED tail lights and turn signals.

• Custom-made Seat – with padding and tail section that looks just like a 1960s/70s road racer.

Every part on the bike is new or rebuilt, with lots of hand fabrications. All aluminum parts have been polished to perfection, the rear differential shines like new, and every painted part on the bike is flawless as the pictures show. The bike won trophies at two shows it was entered in last year: the Daytona Bike Week café bike show and Ride Into History in St. Augustine.

The bike runs as good as it looks! It's been driven for about 9 months and is totally de-bugged.

You can see more of the bike and hear it run on YouTube at:

Asking $6,000, OBO.

Wow! IMHO, the best-looking "café" conversion I've ever seen. The only thing I was disappointed with was the use of the original tach. The bike deserves a modern upgrade.

I was thinking the same thing............it almost looks like it connects at the gas tank?

I think that hose is the gas tank vent - due to the custom gas cap.

I've seen this bike several times and it's very nice! - Bobby - the owner builder, builds his bikes to ride. He lives south of Orlando around Winter Haven FL and when I see him out on this bike he is around Ocala National forest - so a typical ride for him is somewhere around 300 miles a day - not bad for a cafe bike being rode by a "young man of retirement age". (point being is that the ergonomics are pretty good)

Fuel tank vent. It's common on off-roaders to tuck it into the hollow steering stem.

Sorry for the confusion, my name is Vince Ciotti and I'm a friend of Bobby's helping him sell the bike. As superb as he is with mechanical tools, he's not very PC-literate, so I'm listing this for him on the Forum. Wanted to give you CX-lovers a shot at it before it goes on eBay the end of the month.

I had owned a close to mint CX500TC/Turbo and an '05 Triumph Speed Triple 1050 (1 owner) with over $4000 in very nice performance mods and mods to lighten it up and suspension improvements. Bought both use and got, IMO...very good deals on both (especially the Spd Trpl 1050). This CX650 powered custom cafe' is really nice and looks to be very well constructed and I bet a hoot to ride! Reminds me of taking my CX500TC & the Speed Triple...and tossing them together...w/o the CX's body panels. I'd be interested in this bike...but w/shipping costs of over $500 and the asking price of $6K...it's just more than I'd be willing to pay. But...damn...it's a nice bike and I'm sure someone w/o money concerns would snag it at $6K. BTW...I'm 71 yrs old (young)...been riding & collecting motorcycles since 1969...ran 3 different motorcycle shops from 1977-1991 (1 Suzuki & 2 Honda franchises)...and owned some 55+ motorcycles (mainly Big Bore Sport & Sport Touring bikes). Love the package this one delivers!!! (IMO...does need a speedo though!)

Well...I saw this video and a bunch of pictures some guy (idiot) was posting on the FB "Vintage Honda Motorcycle Owners" site...asking for input as to what the bike is worth...as he was "looking" at buying it. Posting was only 1 day ago. From what I see the asking price is $6K. ??? Anyway...that's what I saw and know. He's thinking it's worth only $3K and of course there are others with stupid remarks (and many with praise...as this build deserves it). I love it and would consider buying it if it wasn't so far away from my locale in NYS.

Either he saw this and didn't pay attention to the date (Jan 2017) or it is another FB scam where somescum has lifted pics of a vehicle they have nothing to do with in an attempt to separate someone from their savings.
