Noobie here for the first time. A buddy and I picked up a 79 cx500, with extra parts including an engine and a keihin vb 33A carb. I know this does not fit the cx500, but can not find what it does. Any suggestions?

Our build will be delayed until spring, but lots of reading research is being done. Will follow with pics and lots of questions. This is a great site. Would not have even thought of taking this project on without it!

This is a list that was being built at one time. I don't know if this is where it stopped or if there is more.

They sure look like cx carbs. Did you check to see if they fit?

Also can you measure across the rear where the bracket holding them is missing. End hole to end hole. And how far the inside of the carb throats are from eachother. Then I can compare to carbs I have here.

As 'stich said, they do look like CX/GL carbs.

Could they be for the oddball German Restricted CX500 or GL500? They had a version which had the HP kicked down to conform to their new rider or student laws.

Maybe the 400cc incarnation of the engine?

Or MAYBE, you somehow got a hold of those 150MPG carbs that the oil companies all paid to have recalled and destroyed. Beware if it's those, the kill orders are still out, I hear if you wrap them in foil and wear an aluminum foil hat the black helicopters won't be able to track them.
