The frame tab to mount the fuel filter has little ears on the top of it to prevent the rubber mount from sliding up and off by itself. The rubber mount must be tilted and pushed up at the same time to clear the tabs. If the rubber fuel filter band is old and hardened it will probably split before it gives enough to clear the tabs.

i got it off today and replaced it with the carquest setup,

i also checked the strainer in the feul tank which was very clean.

hope fully this will sort out my probs .

cant hurt thats for sure.
