wiring universal solenoid

Wondering if anyone has experience wiring a universal solenoid in their cx650custom? I recently had to change it out and ever since then it has not held a charge. I wired it exactly like the origianl was wired, but now I am wondering if I should have set it up differant. Has anyone had to deal with this? I wish I had an original. I might just try that next.

I thought it might be possible the universal was designed differant. My next option is the stator so I am trying to rule everything out before I pay to have it replaced.
