[attachment=442:cx project 014.jpg][attachment=443:cx project 011.jpg]I decided recently to restore my old winter bike. The idea is to take off some parts to get rebuilt / repainted or restored, and in the meantime create an other option. I decided to pick up a few cheap parts off ebay and swap for the original parts whilst they were being fettled, and create a totally diferent looking bike. So far I've got another custom tank and with the use of fibreglass extended it, put on a single seat,(both improving the ride I think, and stopping my shins being bruised on the engine guards). I've also installed 11" shocks to lower the back. O and the screen is something I've used for years during winter, hence the reason I've got passing lamps. I got it again off ebay and its from a Guzzi California. Still to come I'm putting Harley silencers on and higher bars. Providing I still have the cash my next project is a bolt on off trike rear end that I should be able to swap within a few minutes with the bike rear end.

Looking good. I'm not so sure on the long tank but I bet it grows on you. I'm one for function over form and I see an extra gallon of gas that could have been there. Of course it wouldn't have been as easy fiberglass. Not that it's easy to work with.

Project so far. Though not decided on paint scheme yet? All project designed to be able to bolt on bolt off back to orignal if so desired. Tank lengthened by 8" to give me leg room, single seat, higher bars, shocks 11", Harley silencers. Fibreglass front and rear mudguards. New SS brake lines. Any ideas what next?

Sure you don't want to chop the rear fender so it's shorter and the brake light doesn't stick off it so high.

Yeah good idea. I have looked at putting a custom light at the back and altering the plate. Gonna check at the testing station to find out whats allowed. Also I'm a gadget freak and below the plate is a scrolling message board/ brake lamp. When I park up it scrolls the message " Warning this bike is protected by an alarm and an axe weilding psycho biker - The only good bike thief is a dead bike thief"

Right finally got the bike the way I want it, with new rear light. Now the paint job, leave it black, paint it red? one colour or custom design. What do you think will suit?[attachment=831:cx 002s.jpg]

I tend to like black too, but there are a lot of black bikes, a different color would stand out more.

By the way, nice work, the tank extension I think it quite clever.
