I'm in the market for a new leather vest and I am having a hard time finding one that'll fit. I'm a big guy (6'4' 325lbs) and finding a good sizing chart online is really difficult. Everywhere I read about has sizing issues, mainly running really small.

Where have y'all had good luck? Recomendations?

Welcome to the group!!

If there is a motorcycle shop (Honda, Suzuki, HD, etc.) go try on items there and make note of brand and size that works/fits best for you, then go to you choice of online shops (Dennis Kirk, etc) and look for the maker on their site and go from there.

As an aside, put your location, CX/GL model in your signature line. You may have a member here that lives on the next block....

Depending on your style I would go to any and every local motorcycle shop you could and see what they have to offer first. May not be the best of choices but it may narrow down the size you need and style you might like.

I order my stuff from Motorcycle Superstore because they have a good returns policy. I think it's only $5 to return something. If I even got another item that I didn't know my size I would order two of them with the size nearest to me and the one next to it. And keep the one that fits and send the other back.

I always get my gear and the majority of my parts from local bike shops. I like being able to deal with a person face to face rather than some big company on the net.

I agree. I will always try to support my local motorcycle shops. Even if I pay another ten bucks or so compared to the online stores I strongly feel it is vital to make sure these guys are here tomorrow.

I thought I had my signature and location set. I guess it went away when the forum switched.

As far as local shops, my local shops don't carry what I'm looking for. I think I found what I'm looking for.

Anyone ever deal with www.dynamicleather.com?

I wouldn't recommend leather except on really cold days considering where you live. As I sit here it now has warmed up to 18F. It was colder overnight.

I would definitely go with a ventilated jacket for the majority of the time. I would recommend a ballistic nylon jacket with a liner and matching pants for when it is cool and maybe even cold.

I get my stuff online at New Enough.com. Great prices and big selection. I did get my helmet locally as I wanted to try it on. My local MC shop is either HD (ew) or Honda with a small selection mostly geared towards dirt or sport riders.
