I am getting my new GL 500 from Crash tomorrow. It has been sitting for a while, but Crash said some of the fluids have been drained. As some of you may know I am not am not a mechanical expert. So I would like some advise/suggestions on what fluids etc. I should check before starting the bike. Here are the few things that I know to check: Crash already changed the oil, so that is good, brake fluid, coolant, brake pads, change plugs. I know there is gear oil or something in the rear end, but I don't know where or how to check it. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Time is a factor for "all" fluids, regardless of how they look.



Check all.



When in doubt as to the change over time, replace it.



Fluids are relatively inexpensive, the repairs may not be if it is neglected.



Same goes for tires, tread can look good, but, how old is the rubber?



Usually date stamped on sidewall.

For the final drive you cant go wrong with taking a look.

And once you learn you can change all your drives since it only uses an ounce or two.
