I'm in the greensburgh area upon occasion its like 45 mins from here I'd really like to meet up sometime I'm out of town this weekend but if you'd like we can see each other next week some evening if you are free. I'd really like to listen to your bike I think my timing chain-tensioner is going but I can quite tell my clutch rattle is quite loud too.

I try to stay off the turnpike too many assholes trying to kill me I use Route 30 to go to Greensburg and Irwin and take it to Route 48 to get to monroeville on business 22

Route 30 has better scenery and less traffic and more places to stop if my Ancient machine craps out faster than I can get out of the road.

Irwin is a little closer to the center and I know the area better and It doesn't take an hour to get food like in Monroeville It is usually really busy and hard to get a table unless it is 3am

I'd have been out today if the bike was ready. Had Larry do the carbs and haven't reinstalled them. front wheel is at a shop getting a tube installed and balanced. Seat is at an upholstery guy. Fork seals are in shipment.

I thought I'd be able to get a few rides in over the winter, then the snow came and I realized that wasn't happening. So I figured I'd get some issues settled, well, spring is knockin on the door and I've got to put the bike back together.

I'm up for a meet when the weather settles.

Why a tube on a tubeless rim??? It makes the tire run hotter that way ...

Bead wouldn't seal.
I would try a different dealer then ... there is no legitimate reason for that.

Either the rim is dirty or the dealer doesn't have the proper tools to mount the tire ... or he is just trying to rip you off for more money.

I bought the tire and had it mounted at the local Honda / Harley dealer. It went flat overnight. I took it back and they tried again, it lost about 5psi a day. I broke the bead, sand papered the rim and tried to seal it with gasket sealer. Still leaked. I pumped the tire up daily last year.

A month or so ago I dismounted the tire, polished the bead area of the rim, and had the tire mounted and balanced at the local Yamaha / Suzuki dealer. I explained the problem and asked if they had anything to seal it. They coated the bead with magic goo and I went away thinking my tire problem was solved.....A week later I took it back and said "put a tube in it"

It's been a couple weeks now and the tire is still hard. I'll accept the drawbacks of a tube to keep the air in the tire.

When the Harley dealer (Honda is definitely a second class citizen there) put the tire on originally the rim was pretty corroded, but they just install the tire, they don't worry about the rim. Now I have a thousand miles on the tire, I smeared it with gasket sealer, nobody is going to guarantee that tire won't leak. When the tire wears out I'll try again. Live and learn.

If you sand the inside of an alloy rim you have to repaint it or it will leak. Alloy rims usually leak off slowly. Paint the inside of the rim with a really do durable paint.

I always recommend Imron as it is so durable, but be advised it cam be a royal pain it the butt to work with.

Read up on how to use any paint you are going to use to be sure that it is applicable to what you want to do.
