Remove the sending unit and clean the windings and sweeper arm contact. You can also slightly bend the sweeper arm so it makes better contact with the windings. Also check the buoyancy of the plastic float in gasoline. My 500T would show about 1/8 of a tank when full, yet the sending unit seemed to work perfectly outside the tank. The float tested ok in a bucket of water, put it back in the tank and no good. Eventually I put it in a container full of gas and it sank nearly to the bottom. Took me a while to figure that one out.
