Hello everybody,



My gl500 '81 forks are a bit soft for my tastes, and are weeping oil and dont hold air , so they need a rebuild any way. I am thinking of getting new forks all together. I want just the fork tubes, bolt on --nothing complicated.

I was wondering if the cx 500 or 650 turbo models (sportier showa units i believe), clamp right in? Do cxt fork tubes fit gl trees and wheels and brakes?

(it is an interstate so yes I have double brakes)...

They probably don't clamp right on. They might fit but the easiest way it to change the triple tree.

May not be that simple.

I believe that the GL forks are either 33mm or 35mm, the turbo forks are 37mm.

Gl forks are 35.

You may be able to swap triples, but youd be better off using forks from a more readily available source. Forks from a newer Honda or GSXR would probably be better anyways.
