Finally found a reasonable deal on a tall trunk for my 81 GL 500. Trunk is in decent shape with the exception of the backrest pad which is torn on the top and duct taped in the front. I got a good deal on the trunk so I don't want to ruin it and spend a ton of money to get it re-upholstered.

Does anyone offer replacement covers for these, or do I have to bring in to an uphostery place ?

Send it to Wisconsin. I hear there's a kid there does some pretty good 'blind-stitchin"!

Get out a needle, upholstery thread ans some vinyl in the color you wish. Once you know how to do the work yourself nothing will stop you. I have hand sewn many things with some pretty good success. Including a few cx500 custom bibs floating around. I have done seats but doing those by hand sucks. I did up a sissybar cover pad for my brother maybe 5 years back and he's still sporting it all over town.

I've heard that Urban Upholstery in Hillsboro is good, but I've never had a reason to use them. It may be cheaper to take it there then try tracking down a replacement.
