Ok Good evening everyone, I know its been a topic before but i live in pa on the way to work this afternoon i saw a fawn that had been hit by a car either last night or sometime time this morning. So i ride at night i imagine some of you do to, just figured i would put it out there to be careful its the season.... Last week A deer ran through a neighbors front window and we live in a fairly populated area. these quick changes in temps are making them confused so they are on edge....

Maybe we need to refresh guns on a bike thread. It's kill or be killed. Maybe mount a machine gun to the handlebars and a trigger on the controls.

i like that thought.....that way you can kill the deer and then take it home and eat it....that works

As the MSF book says..."If the animal is sufficiently small, and you are unable to swerve, prepare to surmount the obstacle"

Or as our teacher put it, don't try to splatter anything you couldn't eat in one sitting, or armadillos.

I have had several "close enounters" with deer but thank goodness have never hit one. My most recent enounter was with my neighbor's dog. The dog is a little, what I call, Yap Yap dog. That means they bark all the time at anything that moves but are so damn little you trip over them as they try to bite. One evening last week, he was out when I returned home on the 650 and tried to play chicken with the bike. He is just large enough that if I hit him I would probably go down. I advised my neighbor that if that happened he would have some bills to pay, both for me and the bike. He is now doing a better job keeping the dog in his own backyard!
