impressive. maybe after the initial point wears off, it wears slower.....but I like acceleration, so I am not easiest on my tires.
If you like to abuse tires try these:

Metzler 880-H rear

Metzler Lazertech-V front

They cost a little more, but they stick great and last a long, long time. Under normal conditions they last about 18K.

For several years, I've only had Dunlops on CX. So I was not creative. I guess I had no opinion. This year is diff. Last Summer, being forced to get new rubber, Michelins were a bit more, but highly recommended. Bought them. A world of difference in the ride. They are worth the added price @$35 more. They make-up for my stupidity. These Michelins are squirrely compared to the Dunlops. The Michelins are more that that this 58-year-old needs, but the 3 times I have needed gripping-rubber, they delivered. Not humor: (1) Stopping for a Mother Moose and Calf, skidding to a stop. (2) Stopping for a herd of Sheep Hwy 200 Blackfoot Indian Res, skidding and steering about. (3) Highway 12 Lachsa route west-bound Idaho going 55 racing a Vega, (yes, a cherry souped-up Vega) and preparing to go around a corner with 15 MPH sign. The Tires saved my life. Damaged right front peg and Jeans at knee. Bad me. (Risky Vehicular behavior? [X]-yes)

So my Tire opinions are limited. Dunlop and Michelin. I've heard several recommendations for other brands, but would only try the other brands were I to buy a bike which was fitted with them upon arrival/time of purchase.

They perform just fine for us but I can't speak to mileage just yet as I have only been riding the GL for 2 seasons and my wife for 1 season.

Nope, actually we have been happily married for 17 years. I got back into riding 2 years ago and convinced my wife to take an MSF course. She enjoyed it so much that we bought her a GL500 last year. She loves to ride. In fact if we go more than 3 or 4 days without a ride, she gets kinda cranky. We try to ride at least 30 miles a day during riding season. It's a beautiful thing.

I have used Kenda's on all my bikes for years without an issue & find that the traction is great.I will be ordering a new front one here this Spring.May not last as long as the expensive ones but with carefull riding I get several riding seasons out of them

Using Kenda K761s on my KLR650 and really like them on twistys, but

they are a little squirrely on gravel compared to the Kenda K270s.

Mounted a set of Kenda Challengers on my CX500D project, still can't

give feedback on them yet because painting the CX right now. Normally

don't get over 5000 miles on rear tires and 7000 miles on front tires.
