I went for an hour's ride this morning with the temperature running around 36°F. No windshield or Hippo Hands. I was very pleasantly surprised to find I had to turn the heat down on my grips.

I was a little surprised to note how cold I got in the areas I usually ignore... my neck; my face. I expect that big windshield has a huge effect on these areas normally and I've just gotten used to that.

Still it was a beautiful day for riding: not a cloud in the sky, cold, dry and windy. That windshield normally would have caused me to be pushed around by the wind but not so much today, even though the winds were honking.

I noticed nobody boating today. Pansies!

Sounds like a good recommendation. I wanted to check out my gerbing gloves but it's 20 and feels like 7 out. Not that it means anything but it's more trouble than enjoyment since sunset was over two hours ago.

No snow there yet Don? We got over 7" Saturday morning. The roads are a mess and will be that way till spring, even if it gets warm I won't ride now till March or so.

There is or was snow but the roads are clean. Maybe 3 inches in the back yard. It it warmed up over 32 maybe it would melt.

Really weird as I am north of Don ... I haven't had any snow other than a couple of sprinkles that melted off immediately.

At deer camp there was about 3 inches of crunchy snow left on the ground when I got there and I had ridden the motorcycle the day before deer camp.
