I'm playing with graphics ideas using the colors Red & Black for the Mercedes SSK build.

I figured the bike needed a new coat of paint anyway so I got $30 worth of rattle cans and went to town.

I went from this last Sunday morning,

To this by 5 O'clock that night.

It was looking good all Red & Black but I started drinking Rum & Coke and things kinda went crazy.

It was just coming out wrong on so many levels I stopped halfway through. It's not at all what was in my head.

Gotta sand it all off and start over. At least the new speedometer/ dashboard Mod is coming out nicely!

Is the white really paint or just masking?
Phoenix

I too, am a rum and coke drinker. Captain? One of the ideas I had was a Captain Morgan inspired bike..... your paint actually wasn't bad, but the seat color seems all wrong for it....
I dunno, kinda like it myself.
The white is paint. The idea was to paint the gold, mask off the gears and cogs, paint the white, take a couple gear masks off and add some flair like victorian accent masking, then paint it red/ black.

I was hoping for a few gears showing through and a couple white accents.

Way to many gears showing and way to much white. I wasn't liking the gear masks anyway. Been raining all weekend so didn't get to do much. Lit a fire and watched TV all day lol. I guess a day off is good every now and then.

Actually I'm a Bacardi Bat wing man myself, Admiral Nelsons Spiced if I'm broke, kinda liking the Trader Vic's Macadamia Nut Liquor with cream soda today

ahhh... and for a change, if it's not Captain, I like Sailor Jerry- so smooth you can have rum- and leave the coke in the fridge!

Try the Black Seal Rum for a tasty treat that is cheap as well.
Blaze, it does look good from the pics you've shown... so no worries.

for the Steampunk thing, ... its kinda hard to get the bright victorian white with the sooty natural brass, bronze, copper, .... (long / short lightwave thing i guess)

Maybe if your going to redo the gears, try more of a cream color or eggshell white, this should work with a couple layers over the white.

by the way, love the instrumentation and accessories
I think your bike looked best gold. Maybe some black gears on it.
