I need to drip and detail clean my right cylinder head. Other than the valve removal tool, any suggestions on what I can use to remove and reinstall the valves?

Use the correct tool.Removing valves is a very dangerous procedure even with the correct tool.Always face the head down and away when releasing the Valve springs or re-fitting.There's enough power stored in the compressed springs to injure if not kill.

Also read the manual for the correct re-fit procedure and tapping the valves with a rubber mallet to check the seating of the collets.
