Hi forum!

I'm made it back after a year and 42,000 km on my CX500 around North and Central america.

Had to rebuild the engine a couple times, so I'm getting better at taking care of my CX.

In the last rebuilt I used half of another engine to fix the problems i had, but the camshaft's rear threading was looking a bit stripped. I used my pocket knife to improve the grooves and was able to tighten the water pump's nut in place with a tight squeeze. Fast forward 8,000 kms and there was a small water leak in the back, seemingly from the peep hole. I therefore wanted to inspect the area but now I can't seem to be able to unscrew the water pump nut. This leads me to believe the thread on the camshaft is done for.

So...

1. how should i remove the nut: dremmel?

2. i can't seem to find a used camshaft online, thoughts on trying to get that rethreaded proper? How does work anyway?

Thank you in advance for the help.
