Have a '80 CX-500C which worked fine last fall after rebuilding the carbs for a few weeks, but then the weather changed and stored it for the winter. Had drained the float bowls when I stored it and now it is very stubborn to start and I have gas leaking from the float bowls (Obviously the floats are sticking so I plan to rebuild the carbs again). I did discover that to get it to start, if I drain the float bowls and then try to start she starts right away. Anybody else experience that symptom?

Yes, I had that starting situation on an '82 CX500 I used to own. I fixed it by cleaning the needle valve seats first. That solved the flooding problem. Then I took the carbs off a second time and set the floats to the proper height. Wow, what a world of difference that made. I was then able to properly sync the carbs after which the bike started easily and ran powerfully.
