If you're fitting a TI type stator I'd suggest a trial fit to check there's no chafing
of the windings on the rear cover.
It wont take long and is worth checking, just in case.
Also test the L&R pulser resistances are well within spec, if you have
any doubts about them nows the time to sort it.
the advance coils are redundant with a TI stator so do what you like with
the wires.
Personally I'd remove them for neatness but its not a crucial decision.
Adding a secondary or backup ground wire as Larry has will do no harm and
should the motor to frame contact be compromised it wlll help to keep
all grounds at the same potential.
I had an issue when my top engime mounts worked loose which gave some odd
ignition problems until I found and fixed it.
