The engine should give a good ground by its contact with the frame

so you dont have to have a ground cable with a TI stator

Its more of a belt and braces thing.

The stator itself needs no grounding.

If you're fitting a TI type stator I'd suggest a trial fit to check there's no chafing

of the windings on the rear cover.

It wont take long and is worth checking, just in case.

Also test the L&R pulser resistances are well within spec, if you have

any doubts about them nows the time to sort it.

the advance coils are redundant with a TI stator so do what you like with

the wires.

Personally I'd remove them for neatness but its not a crucial decision.

Adding a secondary or backup ground wire as Larry has will do no harm and

should the motor to frame contact be compromised it wlll help to keep

all grounds at the same potential.

I had an issue when my top engime mounts worked loose which gave some odd

ignition problems until I found and fixed it.

As I said, belt and braces

Hope it all goes well
