For a year or so I have noticed that SOMETIMES when I push the start button to crank my bike nothing happens (at first). There is no sound whatsoever and the lights go a little dim when the button is pressed. But after a try or two it will turn over. There is no rhyme or reason to when it does this, but I seem to be noticing it more now than before. I think it is the button. Experts?

I would say that since the light goes dim, you may need to take the starter apart and clean up the brushes and contact areas inside. But a quicker item to check would be the button. Take the control assembly loose and pull the wire out that has the contacts under it. A little sanding with fine paper would make sure they are clean. Then if it happens again you'll know it's the starter needing to be cleaned.

Mine does this too. When nothing happens, try pulling off the left side cover, and while pushing the starter button, rap lightly on the little plastic box that contains your main fusible link and (I think) solenoid. There was a thread about taking it apart and cleaning it, which helps.

I had this early on in my CX ownership. It was a frayed wire at the starter button needed re-soldering.

Be very careful when servicing the Throttle assembly. There's a very very tiny ball bearing on the UK models in the light switch mechanism.Lose this and the switch will be vague and not engage properly. The UK models have a 3 position switch e.g off, park and Main.I'm not sure of the arrangement on the US models and GLs.

Easy things first...Take the screws out of the switch body, Spread it apart just a little and spray some electrical contact cleaner in there with the straw that comes with the can. You COULD just have a dirty switch.

Some times I turn on my key and push the starter button, *nothing happens* (Thinking if my battery is dead) then remember I changed the whole wiring system and need to twist the key like a Buick to start. *Blushing* *Twist* Vroom!
