Take a look at this video, will our CX/GL bikes do that???

A CX/GL would probably do it easier than the larger bike being ridden in the video,,,provided the same guy was riding it.

Much as I'd love to say that just about any bike could do just about anything, I think at least the CX's are a little too high-centered to be *that* maneuverable. It'd be a close thing, but there's some of those tight little turns we probably couldn't make.

That being said, I am curious if I'd be able to do the figure-8 box on my CX that I had to do in the safety course on a little 250 Kawasaki. I'm sure I'd get it eventually, but it would take some practice.

I would like to do some aggressive riding and try some of those patterns

but I do not have a bike I want lay down, don't want to lay me down either.

I never did get that figure 8 in the box. Wish I had a klunker to practice with.

Holy Crap! I'm Impressed! I sure as heck could NOT do that.

I can't help but wonder if the huge dragging undercarriage doesn't help somewhat......

kind of an indicater of how far over you are....

Very Impressive indeed!

Well that sure blew my mind lol I could probabaly do the same thing on my CX in a lot less time, as long as they dont have any stupid rules about not knocking the cones over lol

Seriously, I think that guy was sergically mated with his bike DAMN! lol

Gimme some curb feelers and I could do it!

...in my dreams!...

What I noticed was how far ahead the rider was looking as he planned his moves. It really reminded me of watching slalom skiers on course.

That's pretty impressive, I like when you hear the crash bars grinding in the circles. I couldn't do it but I don't see why my cx couldn't, I don't think it's any more high centered than the police bike, plus it's probably at least a hundred pounds lighter.

Wow this is some very impressive bike handling skills. I wish this sort of comp was popular here. I've watched Japanese competitions like these before but they all ride small cc sport bikes. I've NEVER seen a full H/D tank do this stuff. Very skilled rider for sure. Props to him.

I've been riding for a while now and there is no way in hell I could do that, even on my small sport bikes. Suppose I should get busy practicing on the CX and see what happens before I get the paint done.

peace out.

I have to complete my Rider's Safety Course in order to qualify for my Class M license. I just signed up for the course, next Thursday and Friday, with the outit that trains these police officers. They have an advanced course for $780. My wife said I could take that after I take her to the beach.

Here is a guy who sells videos and puts on classes to teach the average biker how to do that.

I have one of the videos if anyone around here would like to borrow it.
