In many different spots.

It all depends on which caliper and master cylinder you have.

Where would be a good reference to look up the sizes for a stock 1979 CX500C?

I'm looking at ebay because bike bandit doesn't seem to have the stuff i'm thinking of listed but what I'm seeing is a 42.8 piston and I thought the MC was 12mm.

Thanks, the manual on the dropio site wasn't any help on a '79 when they went to the square reservoir.

Did you look in Chapters 21 and 22, the '79 addenda?

Good call Randall

The 78cx is 14mm brake MC and 42.8mm brake caliper

82

15.87 brake mc and 30mm x2 brake caliper

Didn't look close enough.

14mm MC = area of 154 + 42.8mm caliper = area of 1439

Ratio: 1439/154 = 9.34

15.87mm MC = area of 198 + [2 times] 30mm caliper (area = 707) = 1414

Ratio: 1414/198 = 7.14
