I think it was 2007, I rode a Silverwing back to SD from Maine. I was used to my '84 1100cc Sabre, but I found the CX a great bike and that 2V 500CCs was plenty to tour with. I only had the bike for that trip, but I never lost respect for the CX line.
Anyway, the CX uses a Showa Air over rear shock like my Sabre does, and I've revalved that Sabre's rear Shock many times. I have a how to album of pictures about how to rebuild one of those shocks that you might like to look at and even save for the future.
