After washing down the battery with a mild baking soda water solution (basic PH to counter any acid on the top of the battery - which there was), filling a few low level cells, charging for 3 hours, cleaned the terminals, put it all back, cranked for 10 seconds with the kill switch "OFF" to build up oil pressure...then two shots of carb cleaner down the intake (air filter removed)...kill switch "ON"...I couldn't believe it! Not even one second of cranking and it started! OK, it ran for 3 seconds then died...so two more shots of carb cleaner and it was back to life and stayed this time. My fears of lengthy cranking didn't materialize. No smoke out of the pipes either. It was as if I had only parked it for 5 minutes, not 5 months. Maybe it will get out tomorrow!
