I've given this one a spray of WD40 and left it overnight, but it pretty locked in. Any tips to separate the fuel pipe without damaging it?

A better penetrating oil such as PB Blaster or Seafoam Deep Creep for starters. It may help to spray it through the float needle passage as well.

Gently grip the tube with a pair of pliers and try twisting it back and forth.

If necessary, use a heat gun to warm it up.

WD40 is fine for soaking down a part once it’s openly exposed (in this case, after the tube is removed) - I often use it as a pre-treatment for cleaning parts - it just doesn’t work well for wicking into crevices or threads.

It does, however, make a good fish attractant. :ROFLMAO:

I'm sure its done by now...but if not "freezing" can also work.
(You can even just invert "canned compressed air" cans to achieve this.....technique often used by scuba divers to loosen tight fittings without damage)
