Keith,

Don't miss the last whale watching boat of the day out of Chéticamp. The whales are more active at the end of the day and the boat captains are in no big hurry to get back for the next load of passengers.

We even had a whale turn as bump the boat. The captain was really upset with it as he could lose his charter if anyone thought he did it on purpose.

Don't miss the Bell museum nor the photography museum if you have any interest at all that way in Baddeck

I would love to go there with you again ... I have done the Cabot Trail 2 times.

I really want to get back to Newfoundland though. The one time I was there was in the middle of Hurricane Dean in the '80s and I ran out of time because of the hurricane.

I've also ridden the Cabot twice, if you count turning around and riding it back.
Nice ride, one of Rich's Recommendations.

Ride the full circle and you get to see more museums and points of interest.

I couldn't get my wife to stop at some of the place that were of interest to me.

That and she didn't want to eat lobster!!!
Hi Keith,

Although they re pretty nice, if you want to get off the NB highways on either your way out or your way back, you are welcome to take the short cut through Maine and come and visit me in Lac-Mégantic. I should be around. You'll save a few KMs, a few bucks on gas and you will get to ride the twisties in Maine. Over the past couple of years they have just about repaved the whole strip between the Quebec and NB borders. The northern part of route 26 is a great pedal scraping ride if you want to push it a bit.

Oh! by the way, make sure you do not run out of gas on the cabot trail as you will find that the gas stations are few and far between. I ended up having to buy some gas from a fisherman at a lone warf for twice the price and a 4 hour delay on one of my trips through there.

He told me i was "too young" to have such a list........

Hiya John,

We have revised our trip to include Lac Megantic :) We plan on arriving in your town late Saturday afternoon July 16th.

Cheers..........Keith..........
Glad to hear that.

Do you need info on local campgrounds? There are a couple of provincial parks around here that are well liked (mount Megantic and Frontenac), or there are a couple of campgrounds on the lake.
We are doing the "motel" thing
So if you have any info on good/cheap motels would be helpful

Okay, Dude, you gotta be sure and take Highway 4 on the way back through Cape Breton. That is, after Louisbourg, you use the 4 to go through St. Peter's, a cute little canal/lock town. When you are about halfway from Sydney to St. Peter's, you will pass my cottage at Irish Vale. I probably won't be there, but you are welcome to come up the drive, park, pitch a tent, rest, whatever...the lake will still be a bit chilly then, but you can even take a swim if you want to. Private Message me for the address and directions.

Keith,

I expect you to drive by this Saturday. If you give me a schedule, I may be able to drive down in Maine and ride back up with you. I'll take the backup Silverwing out for a ride!

Let me know!

Have a great ride.

Keith, good to hear your ride is going well! Stay safe & keep us posted. Thought you were in heaven? I knew buying a place with a garage that big was bound to have an effect on you! When you get a chance how bout posting some pictures of the cavernous structure with your stuff in it.

John, it is very good to see you post! It has been a long time. I assume the new cabins on the island are done and being enjoyed. I still enjoy reflecting on mine & Don's stay with you & Raymonde! Hope all is well.
