I've been reading the post on here about changing the boot and everyone tells of getting it off the driveshaft but not addressing the engine side. Mine appears to go into the engine and be FIRMLY attached. Does it just pull out or is it connected from the inside somehow?

I am currently doing a rebuild and wondered the same thing. It just pulls off. there is a lip that seats in the boot making it feel thike it is otherwise attached. I just carefully worked it off with a big screwdriver. See pics
