Hi!
I got CX650 Eurosport.

I was trying to replace Handle bar to aftermarket one.
I found those switch boxes have aluminum pins to set the position.

Of course, the aftermarket bars don't have holes for it.

In that case, do I have to drill the new bar?

At this stage, I removed the pins and re-fit the switch boxes.
In that case, it remains hole at the bottom side of the switch case.

Now, I installed styrene foam to cover the holes.

Is it good enough? or How did you guys do when you replaced handle bar of your Eurosport?

Thank you!

the pins are there to stop the controls from rotating if you remove them then you have to over tighten the control screws

that can result in the plastic of the control housing cracking i have seen this many times

i would drill the bars and run the pins

Thank you murrayf!

I never thought of over tightening.
Although I tightened, it was not really secure.

I just drilled on the bar and now it is better.

Thank you.

Hi,

I installed new bars and drilled the holes to fit. if i did it again i would have measured the hole on the original bars and marked that way because i marked with a scribe as best i could see and had a bit of limp grip overhang and decided to drill another hole further in on the left bar.
