Well I pulled the rear wheel tonight to check the brakes and boy do they need to be changed. So besides the brakes. What all should I replace while I have the rear wheel off? I am thinking the grease and cotter pins but anything else? Where do I get the pins and what kind of grease? of should I just keep reading my clamer manual after studying and reading A&P for 8 hours today.... (the hip bone is connected to the leg bone...)

I'd just check the bearings and replace them if the are rough or loose. They are sealed bearings and last a long time. Mine are 27 years old and have nearly 51,000 miles and are still good. Spend your money on gas instead of parts and your time riding instead of repairing stuff that doesn't need fixing.
