I'm sure some of you out there have installed radios or CD players or some kind of music playing tool on your Silverwings. Is it a good idea as I have speakers that came on my Wing but no sound system yet.The bike seems way too noisey to hear any music unless going very slow.Just wondering from the experts if this would be a waste of time & money

thanks

It is possible. Ever hear a harley with the radio on. You will have to play yours a bit lower volume than that.

My solution was to get some in helmet speakers that plug into my mp3 player and I can here it to the level I need while riding. There is and inline volume control so if I need to pay attention more I can turn it down. Only problem with the mp3 player is battery life. I have actually had better luck with AAA no rechargable models and just buy dollar store batteries. I get about 250 miles to a single battery.

But then again my bike is naked so I cant hide a stereo.

In helmet speakers, are these something that can be added to a basic helmet.

on a side note I just checked out the pictures of your supertanker build, very impressive

These are the ones I used down to the seller.

I'm not a fan of the velcro so I actually sewn them into the removable helmet liner. I was getting tired of having earbuds fall out.

This is a similar install to mine.

Yeah the supertanker build really pulls the bike together. Thank god for people like Larry who know how to build things right. Even when they have never built them before.

SOLD

I just bought a set & I'll try them.thank you

I still don't know if I should make use of the speakers on the bike though. It looks kinda goofy having speakers with no sound & it might be nice to have around town where the rumble from the tailpipe isn't too loud.

I should really contact the seller and tell him that I bet I sold 8-10 of these for him just on recommendation. The thing I like is they are cheap and ship from the US.

I will see what I can dig up for a cheap radio unit. Do you have anything on your bike besides speakers. Is it a hondaline fairing or a vetter?

Hondaline ,I do have a voltmeter on the rt side & a 12volt outlet on the left.

I saw on ebay some mini amplifiers that you can plug an ipod or mp3 player into.they claim 100 watts ,more likely 20 I would say. They would fit nicely into one of the pockets up front.Maybe the way to go.
