Putting her away for the winter

When I took my safety course and the instructor was putting the bikes away for nearly a week, he had us shut down like normal (which means shutting off the fuel too) and then he ran them until they quit. We are getting to put Chaos away for the winter, add sta-bil etc. So according to the significant other, we're topping off the gas, adding the sta-bil, running it for a few minutes and shutting her down for the season. After shutting off the fuel, should I run it again til it stops, or will it not matter?

i dont know what to say but i know if it were me i would run the fuel out of the carbs and fog the engine and put a tender on the battery but thats what i would do but i dont have to do that seeing how this week its in the 70's so i have no worrys about the winter

We're expecting 3-5" of snow tonight, I think the high today was 34

I ended up shutting off the fuel and running it. I'm frozen and the bike was still warm, so I'm putting the cover on tomorrow!!

it's now put away for the winter

*sniffle*

We got about 4 inches of snow last night. Streets are well plowed etc, but as the salt melts the snow, it stays wet and after an entire day of people driving on it, it's all getting slick again. Yeah, I definately thinking I'm done for the winter! I'll have to see if I can load some first snow driving pics later (or tomorrow). BTW- it wasn't me driving. Troy was worried about the road conditions in our area so instead of the usual (for me) driving around and enjoying the snow in my Torrent, he insisted on driving us in the F-350 4x4.
The Torrent could've done it.. LOL..

Still sad about the bike, but I took Gunner to get his picture taken with Santa today! hahaha
