Putting her away for the winter

When I took my safety course and the instructor was putting the bikes away for nearly a week, he had us shut down like normal (which means shutting off the fuel too) and then he ran them until they quit. We are getting to put Chaos away for the winter, add sta-bil etc. So according to the significant other, we're topping off the gas, adding the sta-bil, running it for a few minutes and shutting her down for the season. After shutting off the fuel, should I run it again til it stops, or will it not matter?

What exactly is fogging oil?

Also I've heard that rainwater works just as well as distilled water for batteries... hmm... *melted snow?* *think, think, think*
Might make it easier to see the level in the battery....
Thanks toehead... it's been quite awhile since I've ran my nitro rc cars, but if you let em' sit for more than 3 days they need to have oil in the engine to keep the rust from forming... they call it "after run oil" and charge an arm and leg for an ounce of the stuff. I've used wd-40 in a pinch. Apparently a 50/50 mix of Marvel Mystery Oil and atf fluid is the equivalent. You just put a couple drops in the carb and crank it over a few times.

Same basic principle... just on a smaller scale I guess.

Hey Spring Brook Rider... Have you tried a cup of sugar?... might help.
