If I can go for Made in America then I choose the
Shadow 1100 and Together with the Valkyrie, these two Shadow
American Classic custom motorcycles make the Marysville
Edition Motorcycle Plant the custom bike production
headquarters for Honda. Powered by a
liquid-cooled 1099cc V-twin, both Shadows
possess low-end torque and mid-range power for
excellent rideability around town or on the open
road. Both Shadow models also feature a factory
custom color paint program that allows customers
to choose their own color and logo combinations.

Its a shame Honda closed the Marysville motorcycle plant, I think all of their new bikes sold here, including the GoldWing, are now made in Japan again. I have a Valkyrie and I used to feel it was partly American because it was built in Marysville, but I don't really feel that way now.
I built up a custom shovelhead in the early '80s but it was never much more than a bar-hopper. I would like to do something like that again around a big bore S&S but the end result would have to be ridable for distances too. Its doable but expensive.
