So the gift certificate to Cycle Country here in Salem was burning a hole in my pocket
I ended up getting a pair of Cortech Scarab winter gloves, I had a $40 gift cert so they only cost me $45, now I just need to wear them everywhere to break them in

Very well armored, especially for a winter glove. I ride with them myself, and would not be afraid to use them as a track day glove when the weather is cold.

Not as waterproof as I would have liked, but at 65 miles per hour in the rain, nothing is.

When the mercury dips into the 20's, they are not too warm at higher speeds due to wind chill.

Still, for the price, I wouldn't pick anything else.

I rode through one winter with nothing but military gloves and wool liners. They suck. BAD.

The Scarabs are vastly superior.

Extreme cold weather riding?

Wear Underarmour glove liners underneath a pair of Cortech Scarabs.

The Underarmor will wick the sweat away from your hands, into the thinsulate, which will wick the moisture further away from your hands.

Lucky,

How cold does it get in Arizona? It was 20 degrees this morning in Illinois. In this weather I start the bike every Saturday and let it get up to temp. I do run it in 2nd gear on the center stand just to get the fluids moving in the rear end. I don't need gloves for that. lol

there is no store here that sells that stuff

No snow equipment stores in the desert? I find that hard to believe! You can check online. I've never used this place, but it's a starting point: RockyMountainSnowmobile.com

I find that using a pair of light leather gloves (for road protection) under a good pair of winter outdoor (not driving) gloves (ski gloves for example) is good to about 45 degrees (F) on bikes without deflectors - if you're not going more than 20 minutes. After that the cold starts to set in.
