I know it's not original but I'm almost tempted to put those SilverWing badges on my side covers instead of the CX500 Custom decals. I wish there was room for both as I really like the SilverWing badges. The only problem is it would defeat my purpose f restoring it to perfectly stock condition.



Anyone else have an opinion?

Get an extra set of side covers, do both and utilize whichever one fits your whim for that ride? Or really confuse'm and put one of each on the bike.

One thing I can't stand with motorcycles is someone trying to make their bike seem like it's something it's not......ie people removing all the badges and decals from their bike so that others don't know it's a Jap bike and will THINK it's a Harley as I've seen in many Craigs List ads.....with those ads that say "everyone thinks it's a Harley", they always have the badges removed. WHY ?

I know that's NOT your intent with this, you just like the way the badges look and they DO look nice BUT your bike is NOT a Silverwing so I would't put Silverwing badges on it.

Yea, they were just very attractive as are the original '78 side covers that had an solid emblem attached to them.



I've already got Theo decals and true, my intent was to restore this to what it looked like when it was new.



Guess I'll stick to original, that means the only variations are going to be:



1) Paint color

2) won't have all the fancy pinstripe decals on the tank or sides

3) will have a fork brace and a windshield



Funny deal on the sides, I had an extra tank and an extra set of sides so I was going to make up one set in blue and another in red then change them from time to time to see how many people noticed. Turned out my extra tank was totally shot after I cleaned all the rust out of it, some had gone so far that when I started to strip the paint from it a huge hole turned up. At least the tank that came with the bike is rock solid with no visible rust at all.

Naw, do like the teenagers do and put a "Type R" sticker on there, it supposedly adds 100 HP.



In actuality theres a ton of things one could add, in fact you could honestly put a 4 valves per cylinder type sticker on there.

Stay true to your heart................you wanted to do a re-store ,stick with it.......there are enough custom type bikes out there.......not enough of stockers for my taste.........

if you like the badges then use them. it's your bike so make it yours any way you like. you don't have to please or impress anyone but yourself.

OK- now that THAT'S outta the way..... wtf?!?? I have a HD seat on my bike.... I am NOT trying to get people to think it's not a jap bike. You'll have people say 'everyone thinks it's a harley' because they want it to SELL, and they think it ups the 'cool' factor.



I tell people who ask I have a Honda Davidson and if they get it they laugh, if not, I explain it to them. Using very small words. And sometimes stick pictures.



Bottom line, if you want to put Sea-Doo on your motorcycle- by all means, do it. It's YOUR bike and YOU are the one whose input matters most. I do think that the 'HEMI' would be pretty funny...
