Hi everyone, I have this fuse that burned (my fault). It was close the the battery. Can I replace this thing with a more modern fuse? or can I still find that paper like fuse?

When I bought my bike it had a blade type fuse in a holder jumping the gap there, seemed to work fine.

You can still get those from the dealer ar any used parts shop. I believe they are rated at 35 amps.

There is sometimes a spare in the fuse cover.

That mod is by far the best because if for some reason you want to go back to stock you can do it easily.



The Cx500 fuse are is different but the same mod is suggested over the cheap glass holder.

It's quick and easy. I've done this to all of our running bikes. It works too. Last month I was installing the battery on my wife's 81 GL so we could go for a ride. I was in a hurry, not paying attention and I installed the battery wrong. Got some nice sparks and killed the fuse. I changed the fuse and the bike is fine. I thought I killed the battery too, but fortunately it survived.
