ok guys this idea been flowing through me made up a basic logo, i think we can get chapters all over the states and on the outskirts too. we can do donations for the patches or embriodary on our jackets or vests however you choose we can have presidents in different areas we can set up rides and outing and may this give us the chance to reach out to our fellow twisted twin brothers and sisters. let me know what ya think we can get this world wide and let people see our passion for our twisted twins. i am gonna see what flys with this i am very excited to try this out i think we can have a blast helps us to stay connected off the forum too. what do ya think lets do this

Since you asked. I'm probably odd man out, but here goes.

I'm not a joiner, myself. One of the things that attracted me to this forum in the first place was that I didn't have to join some club in order to be a "member" here.

I don't wear patches advertising anything if I can help it. When I buy a new vehicle the first thing I do is remove the dealers decal and license plate frame with the dealer's name. I don't wear t-shirts that have messages on them. I don't join bowling teams because they all want you to wear shirts with some name on them.

Sounds like I'm anti-social, but I'm not. I'm a paid up member of several curling clubs (don't have to wear a "uniform" or patch. I think riding with a group is great. I am a member of a fraternal organization and have their logo on the back window of my pickup. I also have a COPA sticker on my pickup windshield. I would be happy to buy and put a small logo for this forum on the windshield of my bike but I wouldn't put an "Alberta Chapter" sticker on it.

I think it would be a great idea! We should take care not to make it difficult or costly to join. Make it more af a social group rather than an organized club. Kinda like a forum on wheels (2).

We're already out here.

I'm the de facto leader of the Minnesota chapter (because I seem to be the only one calling events.) Some of the Oregon guys have been organizing, too, I think.

Phil, who originated HTTA, has the SE chapter. It's really all very unofficial, though.

Why not be HTTA-PA or HTTA-MidAtlantic? Of course, there's no official group to conform to, so do what you want.

Not looking for an organized funded group that has fees and crap like that we are out here in droves thought it would be nice to show off our colors be nice for each state to have a club yes the forum on wheels and if someone wants to get a jacket imbroidered with the twisted twin logo i think it could work We always talk about our twisted twins we have a forum why not have a jacket to match we can come up with a cl/gl 500 logo to go along with it. my brother in law has a group of about 50 they ride and hang together from the fire department the have the little club with meeting and get togethers rides over the weekends and some of them travel in from other places could be nice. i mean sounds good, i like the people here and we all love what we do so just a suggestion i know a few people around here that have the twisted twins each state can have there own chapter # we dont have to be local or anything our twisted twins are world wide....

I second Randall and not because I vectorized the second logo. But when I look at your design all I see is Cmisted Cmin's Motorcycle Club

Text is big with me.

I also agree with Doralh. I belong to several groups but don't display anything that really identifies me with them. If they have a pin i'm prone to that but not many do. I will not be cannibalizing my jacket. I have the second design in a patch and the round/black cx/gl patch that use to be sold by MR. Baker but I cant find any on ebay right now. But I have had them for a year now and can't manage to sew them to anything. And yes I do know how to sew.

I do appreciate Randalls work as I cant seem to get anything moving in my area.

I also belong to MIL VIN MOTO (Milwaukee Vintage Moto) They have several chapters by changing the first 3 leters. So yes there is a Chi (Chicago) http://www.vinmoto.org/

Also

Ton Up Chicago Which has many chapters.

Something I've found to be a good local recruiting tool is Craigslist. I've advertised the last two Twin Cities Spring Rides on CL, with a link to a forum thread giving the details. Response has been very good, with a number of new forum members as a result. We had twenty bikes at the 2010 Ride.

Naw ... nobody's feathers got ruffled. We're all a bunch of rugged individualists who also happen to like helping each other with tech stuff, and sometimes providing a shoulder to lean/cry on, and having a few laughs once in a while. I've been really impressed with how downright good everyone here is. Every once in a while I read where someone is giving parts away for free to another forum member. I have personally received hundreds of dollars worth of free advice, and I'll sure recommend this forum to anyone I meet who has a CX or GL.

Little Buffalo, don't think we're being unfriendly because we don't get really enthusiastic about patches and stuff. I don't have anything against someone wearing patches, but it's not my thing. Just my own two pennies worth.

We're also spread around a lot over half a dozen countries which would be a real problem. For example, in Alberta where I live there are maybe only 3 forum members and we're 1 or 2 riding hours apart.

Btw i could if wanted to join a harley group as a member even though i ride a honda can ya picture that one LMAO.... how out of place would that be.

Just depends if it's a Harley Owners Group or a group like A$$holes are Us.

One is full of doctors and lawyers and the other is self explanatory.

Some don't care and others really do.

Randall, Where do i get one of those Honda transverse badges, how would i start Pennsylvania chapter so to say.I love the idea that patch looks awesome heck i would be proud. maybe like Doralh said partially, he only has about 3 people in his area he knows of. then again how many people that don't know of this site would ever find us. or have an interest in it if they dont know we are here. I would never of found this site if i did not own a tt or had the passion to get information on understanding. that was just the point i was bringing out but not everyone would be on board anyway. I suppose it was one of those passing thoughts. it's all good either way blindstich hit it on the nose... however this forum rocks and i will just try to identify my passion on the site, hope to see one of my fellow brothers and sisters out on the road one day.

If you're referring to this one...

...there was a guy on eBay for a couple years selling round, generic CX500/GL500 patches (Sorry, I don't have a pic of that one.) Phil in Low Gap convinced him to do a run of this design that he and Blindstitch worked up. They didn't sell as well as expected, and he sold off the last handful at a discount. Don't expect another run, unless someone here decides to do it.

If you're referring to the HTTA-MN patch, I've never had them produced. It's just a preliminary design I threw together and put out for comment last winter. I have used it on calling cards and on some signs to mark our bikes when the group stopped at a vintage bike show last May.

Plan a route, choose a date, and put out the call. Once you have some folks together, you'll get an idea of how organized they want to be, and whether there's interest in patches, jackets, etc.

then again how many people that don't know of this site would ever find us. or have an interest in it if they dont know we are here.
That's why I suggested a Craigslist ad. Just remember, you'll get a lot more response to an event posting than to "Hey, do you want to start a club?" Start with the event. Those who want to stick around will.

Our local group is really just an email list (that's in sore need of updating) and one or two rides a year, plus the occasional work session or lent tool. Few of us socialize much beyond that.

I could only wonder what I was right with. If you really need a patch to define your life I have a spare of both the Baker patches that I would be willing to sell. Can't seem to find a picture of the circular one but here is the HTTA 2.5 x 2.5 inch patch. It looks better than the picture shows. But I would need to see a picture of it sewn on something when you get it.
