Never heard of oil pump problems with a cx. Anybody have any issues in this area? runs strong. no weird noises could too thick oil do it? I used amsoils but I was thinking about switching to vavoline racing oil for the zinc but is it too thick? lets see sensor; bearings; oil pump; fiter; had oil change and filter last summer had ignition problems so didn't ride it much since then, start it up to chase parts and on way home the oil light comes on, goes out. In the past other than electrical components failing the bike ran flawless. I would like to hears your thoughts. thanks guys Allen K

Drop the oilpan and check your pickup screen.

get some 10w40 dyno motorcycle oil in it like its supposed to have

make sure the oil filter cartridge has the spring then the washer then the filter

make sure the pump screen is not sludged up

check that the wire from the sensor to the harness is not frayed bared or shorting

your ignition problems did not include any melted aor shorted wires?

When my bike's oil light came on before...it turned out to be a faulty oil pressure sensor. Replaced it and was sorted.
