Camchain/valves adjusted..

still have a engine noise ..none at idle, comes on about 2grand..does not get louder with increased rpm..

What does the stock fan sound like when it is getting tired??



bike has 28k , hardly ever ridden ..

( one of five bikes ) I know , I know, too many bikes

does it get faster with increased RPM's? Does it occur while moving and standing still? About where does the sound come from?

both moving , and sittin still.

does seem to get faster up to a point , seems like front of engine..

suspect is fan .

To be safe it might be wise to check the oil to see if there are any metal flakes in it. Also are your tappets adjusted? If you think it is the fan drop the radiator. No you don't need to drop the engine to do so.



That is my guess so far. Other should have better ideas...

Fan would change rpm's with the engin. So the sound would change. I have the heat sheald that viberates on the exhast pipes befoe the cross over at that rpm.

good idea's

I will drop the radiator, and check ...( iknew I should do that , but lazy)

oil is good , clean ,no flakes ..
