Hi all , just thought i would show you a few pics of my project . im fitting ace bars so have modified the tank with scollops so the switch gear does,nt hit because the gl tank is very wide at the front, i made teardrops out of some 90mm exhaust split down the middle and welded in.

Ive also made a rear hugger out of the rear under guard which ive cut down and fitted to swingarm by welding bracket on !

Its great to have found this forum and nice to read about so many projects

Cheers STEVE

I am not able to do mods like that. I have done well to take a bike that did not run and make it work.I would like to see what the tank looks like when finished. Hope to see more pictures.

Have some more fun with your project.

Thanks for the great comments and encouragement ,ive now stripped and primered the tank and playing around with stripes, think im gonna use the foam off the front gl seat, narrow it and make a base and cafe style hump out of the back of an old tank.[attachment=563:DSCF1851.JPG]

Hey!
I would not want to ride in the rain on the bike, but I would go out of the way the rest of the time. Oh ya !!!!

Nice bike I am doing somthing with my gl but not sure what to do with the back end to keep it legal
. So far lost all the fairing plus rear body work and am just waiting for some parts from CMS. Was thinking of a chrome mudguard held on with bracket welded to swing arm with a side support further back to mount lights and number plate.

Thanks wightey, could be nice idea to fit mudgaurd to swingarm, because of shaft drive you can fit it real close to the tyre! howabout painting it satin black so it looks like it hasnt got one?

Im,e just making my cafe racer seat, ive used the back of a yam sr500 tank and folded the base from steel sheet, ive made it so the original front gl seat foam will fit if i take a slice out of the middle and glue back together, when ive finished it im gonna get mate who does fiberglass to take a mould off it and maybe make a few![attachment=587:Image0064.jpg]
