I'm brand new here, so please forgive me if I'm not posting in the right area. I have a 1981 CX500, with the Honda VHD SHOWA rear shocks. Not even sure that gives enough information. But I'm trying to get some information on how these shocks function. I have had this bike for a couple years now. No issues. The one day I'm out riding, making a couple stops at some places. The last place I stopped at, parked the bike, and I noticed the kickstand was making the bike too high. So it would tip over. I got home and finally realized that the seat was really low to the wheel, and the shocks were completely compressed! I can't figure out how all of the sudden they would both do that. I didn't hit any large bumps or anything. And if they failed, what are the odds they would both fail at the exact same moment??

Any help or direction anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated!

Mike
