Yes, that time of year again. August in southeast Wisconsin. Rockerbox motorcycle show is upon us, and I plan to be in attendance again this year. Thank you Blindstitch for taking that beautiful picture of my cx650 last year. You'll get to see it again tomorrow with one of the best weather forecasts for Rockerbox yet. Hope I see more honda transverse twins this year..

Well I'm thinking I only saw one or two cx650 customs last year so that narrows it down. I did hover over a 650 turbo for a while.

Right now I'm debating how to navigate this mess. I could go to Reina, Harley, The Ducati shop or several other places to scoot down there or I could just say screw it and be a one man parade.

Around the corner to Rockerbox on the north side of the road Milwaukee Vintage Moto has a house that invites members. The Chicago Vintage Moto guys are going to be there too but since nobody knows anyone just wonder in and maybe you will meet someone new. Hopefully they remember me since I have some questions for a few entering bikes.

Bad news is the 650 didn't make it out to Rockerbox because it kept dying when it warmed up. Good news is I found MinnesotaCXer's writeup on replacing the main fuse with a blade fuse and holder on the global forum. Best news is problem seems to have disappeared for the moment after making the switch. Thanks to the CX/GL community!

Damn. If you had my number I would have swung out that way and gave you a hand. I think I even had all the stuff in my tool box. And even easier fix on that bike if I remember.

This one was by far my favorite at the show. I talked myself out of doing this sort of thing with my own Venture 1300 a few years back. It was nice to see that someone actually went through with it.

Really. I guess everyone has there own style. The one thing I like about it besides it's black is the fact that I have seen it at Slimey Crud and Rockerbox and a few other events so I know it is at least used.

My fav thing about it is that it doesn't look like anything else out there. I can really appreciate all the work that goes into a nice chopper, cafe, or original restoration, but really -- who makes a mad max streetfighter out of a Venture? (I'm also a little jaded in that my 38" inseam dwarfs pretty much anything that isn't full touring size)
