Hey Folks,

There is a Retro article on Turbo bikes featuring our Turbo. Its on the May 2011 issue of Cycle World. Guess which is the one bike the

tester would like to keep?

Did they badmouth them like most articles?

I like the recent post with the museum picture of the 650T. The plaque states a good 750 would equal or exceed the 650T's performance. Funny how articles back in the day had the 500T wailing on 900s and the 650T leaving the mighty 1100 Katana "in its wake". My friends mint low mileage V65 from the same era also gets its ass handed to it on a regular basis. And in a 40 to 140 roll-on, a Hayabusa won't exactly make a 650T disappear into nothingness like most other bikes.

A good 750! HAHAHAHAHA!!!

Too bad I let my subscription run out...figures they'd decide to run a turbo article now.

If you go here ( http://www.filesonic.com/file/444584654/cw-05_avaxhome.ws.pdf# ) you can download the whole magazine and read the article. It is about a 5 minute download on my DSL Internet connection. It is free but if you want to pay a fee you can download it in about 30 seconds. I have no idea how they do that but 5 minutes for free I can live with. I think I remember the article is on page 80 something. Enjoy! Billrod

Thanks billrod and Rique. Thats a pretty good article with GREAT pictures. AND they talk a little about the practicality of turbocharging a present day motorcycle with modern advances.

Very nicely and entertainingly written. They post the Kawasaki as the fastest, but then note that they never tested the 650T for top speeed.

If I were the owner of those turbo's, I dont' think I would have let those young women load the turbos on those pickups even IF they used ramps from discount ramps.

I noticed that too, it's the first time I've seen a non-failed vehicle in a museum display disparaged like that. Plaque info was probably just an editorial cut/pasted from the net or a bike rag taken as fact by a lazy museum employee.

RIQUE,

I am not sure about downloading other magazines. I just googled the magazine and date and was fortunate to find the site for this one. If you have enough time you can probably find almost anything. Billrod

Bought my copy today at the supermarket. Yeah, our Honda seemed to be the choice of the rider.

Not to sound snobby, but am I really surprised? No. Our bikes are fun, fast, comfortable and well suited to sport touring. I would get on my bike today and ride across country without any reservations, weather permitting of course................

Got my copy d'loaded. Will read it later...with a cold one in hand!

The author is Peter Egan, who is a great writer/rider and very knowledgeable about motorcycles. I have both copies of his Leanings books and they are great reads. A person can also read his articles online at the CW website.

The magazine article is neat. When I took my CX500TC to DMV for title inspection

the agent was really impressed with the bike. He knew I was coming in and he saved

a copy of the magazine for me, the complete mag no less and I really appreciate the gift.
