Hello everyone. I just purchased my first bike around a month ago. It's a 1980 CX500C. I've been doing lots of reading and this forum has been very useful for me. I figured I should sign up and say thanks to you guys for collecting so much valuable information and putting it in one spot, it's very convenient. Anyways, picked up the bike for $500 and I've put probably around $800 more into it including some shop time. It's taking me a bit but I'm slowly getting her back up to par. She runs like a top but I'm surprised it held together there were so many bolts missing or in the wrong places. I'll leave off with a few pics of my "new" acquisition.

Welcome from Arkansas

Thank you very much.

Welcome from Cleveland, OH!!

I think we could form our own "sub-group" because I also picked up my CX500 Deluxe for $500!

(The others that got theirs for more might get jealous, though.)

Thanks and I'm in for the 500 club. Actually, after the extra money I've had to spend some of the guys that initially paid more can probably laugh at me.

hola, from down here,,,,,, just in time for the good weather driving ,,,,,,welcome

Thank you, I'm still working towards getting my M1 endorsement. I haven't had the opportunity to ride before, heck, haven't even rode this thing other than to putt it around in the back yard. I hope to get up and running soon so that I can take advantage of the warm, clear weather. With my luck it'll probably start raining the day I'm ready to head out...hehe.

You have a real beauty! Had one just like yours, though not quite as nice 2 years ago. Now on a GL500 Silverwing. Welcome to the group.

Thanks much. The bike is in fairly good condition but every time I fix something I find another little something that someone has rigged up incorrectly at some point. I think I'm getting down to the last few little gremlins now. I really like the Silverwings too, they look like a comfy ride.

Welcome from Canada :) hope you have a lot of fun fixing her up, and very few frustrating times :)

Thank you very much. I have had a good deal of fun so far mixed with a little frustration, nothing too bad. It's been both exciting and a learning experience. Can't wait to get her out on the road.
