Hi Guys,

I've searched the forum and haven't found an answer to my question. One came close telling someone to refer to the wiki but that drew a blank.

I have bought a new set of clutch plates from David silver but they do not replicate the old set as you can see. Does anyone have an idea of the order they should go in?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Wolfgang, your link heads to the CMSNL listing for
[h=1]Cx500 1978 Germany 27ps Type[/h]Will this have an impact on the parts needed for a full power CX500?

That's odd as David Silver sold it as a 'set' for my CX500. So I have 5 discs which are the same and 2 different ones. Are you suggesting that perhaps on of the 5 discs should be replaced with a special 'B' plate?

Ok, by deduction using the info that quelli02 gave me from the CMS site, Partzilla and David Silver I have found out the order the friction plates should be in as by the given part numbers from Partzilla. They are as shown in the photo below with the 'cross hatched' disc being at the front and obviously the correct metal plates in the right way round between them. So from the front they are (Partzilla numbers) 7,6,6,6,6,6,5. Part numbers:
1X 22202-392-000 Partzilla Diagram #7
5X 22201-415-306 Partzilla diagram #6
1X 22201-286-010 Partzilla diagram #5

Partzilla shows 22202-392-000 as being obsolete but if you put this into David Silvers search it does come up with what is probably a replacement being the disc show below in the front.

I have another more pressing issue, I think I might have screwed up somewhere along the line.

The engine is out and on the bench, when putting the clutch basket and discs etc in, I can't tighten the nut. I put it in gear and use the crankshaft nut to turn the engine, the rear output drive shaft turns and the clutch does not! Somethings not right here, it seems that the clutch and the transmission are not connecting, any ideas?

I did have the rear cover off and transmission out but made sure I replaced it as a 'whole' having not dismantled the transmission. The unfortunate thing is I have replaced the rear cover now but may need to pull it off.
