I don't think he means the float needle, I think he is talking about the vacuum slide needle, the fitting it seats into is easily lost.

I think you have to buy new needles and the seat as a set.
This kit, for a 78-79 CX shows that they have the needles and seat included.

I have never dealt with this company and know nothing about the quality of their stuff or what the service is like,,You could email them to see if they have them for an 81 or if these will fit in an 81 and if they sell the needles and seats separately, that one kit is 45.00, so it would be 90.00 for two.
