Can't tell in my manuals. There's a spacer which goes around the axle into the drive shaft. However - each end is a little different. One is smooth, and tapered slightly. Which end goes in first (to the drive shaft / right side)??

thanks Shep, that's what I figured. Just wanted to be 100% certain. The service manual I have doesn't show specification on the ends.


Yes it is vague at this point as is my Haynes.Not any mention in the text either.

thanks again. got the wheel on.



Just curious - should the rear wheel spin freely? does this mean I must have the bike in neutral? I don't remember it spinning freely prior... but didn't take note



is there a way to pop it into gear to be sure it's grabbing?
